WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?

According to the Young Living Essential Oils website, which you can find by clicking HERE, the oils have been used for thousands of years for cosmetic purposes as well as for their spiritually and emotionally uplifting properties. The oils are primarily extracted through careful steam distillation, but are also extracted through a cold pressing process. The purest oils are far more powerful than the botanicals they are extracted from.

Young Living Essential Oils, which are pure, therapeutic-grade oils, are offered in four different categories – essential oils, at home, healthy and fit and personal care. Whether you use the oils for aromatherapy, personal care or household cleaning, every aspect of daily life can benefit from using the essential oils.

Tasja noted that if members want to know more about the oils and their numerous benefits; or if members have questions about the oils, she would be more than happy to chat with them and help them choose the right oils for whatever their needs may be.

CitrusOils

The citrus oils are some of the top sellers and include grapefruit, lemon, orange and tangerine. With their sweet, zesty, fresh scents, the citrus oils are known to help support a healthy immune system. Most of the essential oils can be used topically, ingested or used in a diffuser, Tasja said, noting that members can call anytime with questions about how to use their oils.

Peppermint (2)

Another best seller is the peppermint oil. This essential oil is used to help support normal digestion. It can also be used to help relieve headaches, said Tasja, as well as toothaches and a variety of other uses. This is one of the most versatile oils, she added.

There are several essential oils that make up the blend of the Thieves oil, including clove, cinnamon bark, rosemary, lemon and eucalyptus radiata. A favorite of Tasja’s, this oil has highly antiviral and antiseptic properties. It can not only help with a variety of issues including sinusitis, bronchitis, sore throats, cold cores, infections and gum disease, the Thieves line of cleaning products offer safe, natural alternatives to harsh chemicals and cleaners with formulas that work hard and smell amazing!

Tasja added that the Thieves oil, mixed with peppermint and the purification oil makes a great bug spray, which is perfect this time of year when mosquitos are out in full force. The recipe she uses is as follows: Fill an 8-ounce spray bottle with 4-ounces of distilled water, 4-ounces of witch hazel and add 10 drops of thieves, 10 drops of peppermint and 10 drops of purification. Shake and spray.
