Have you ever wondered what exactly a bootcamp class is or what you would do in a plate strength class or how about PiYo or INSANITY? Check out these brief descriptions for each of the classes offered at Vital Fit Club:
So, what are the benefits of taking group fitness classes?
Here’s just a few:
- You get a variety in your workouts. Each day you can take something different and work different parts of your body. And, your body won’t get used to doing the same thing!
- Accountability, which is a big deal for most people. If you work out by yourself, it is so much easier to let yourself down and not do a workout. But if you know others are going to be there, you are less likely to let them down.
- Structure. Some people crave structure and would much rather have someone else tell them what to do then have to come up with exercises on their own. Also, when you are taking a class led by an instructor, your less likely to skip something. You get a more complete, structured workout. Structure can also mean form and if you are in a group fitness class, the instructor can help make sure you are in proper form when performing the exercises. It’s a win/win.
- Motivation and friendly competition. This kind of relates to accountability in that when you are surrounded by others, in a group fitness class, you are more likely to push yourself and be more easily motivated. And, why not add a little competition between friends/peers. Challenging a workout partner helps both of you – or all of you – do better. And again, push yourself to do your best!
If you have ever wanted to try a class, now’s the time. And if you are scared or worried about anything, like the fact that EVERYONE in the class will be looking at you, put those worries out of your head! When you’re in class, you are so focused on YOU and the instructor, you don’t have time to pay attention to those around you!
